FIER represented at Flood Protection Day in Brake

How much assistance do your family, friends and neighbors need in the event of a flood with a potential evacuation?

This and more was discussed on the 17th of August with citizens and members of emergency response organizations at the Flood Protection Day in Brake (Wesermarsch region, Germany).

Helge Bormann and Jannik Fleßner from Jade University represented FIER and its topic at the event, which was organized by the German national project LifeGRID. Thanks to an elevation map of the region and a survey, we had the chance to discuss flood scenarios and the vulnerability of our own community. It was a great opportunity to learn more about perception of flood risks and awareness of vulnerable groups.

What an amazing day! We are already looking forward to the next edition of the flood protection day in the Wesermarsch region.
