Sötåsen showcase Sweden
Sötåsen is one of the natural resource schools in the Vastra Gotaland region. The school is located outside Töreboda, and practise organic farming, large-scale organic horticulture, and many educational programs in animal and nature care. The food waste from the school is composted and used in vegetable cultivation.
The school focus in green bioeconomy and circularity and has a farm based plant for green biorefinery, a biogas plant and a pilot biochar plant used for pyrolysis of different substrates. The biochar and biogas plant are integrated in the schools heating system. The biogas can deliver both heat, electricity and be upgraded to compressed natural gas with a unique ash filter technique.
