Food Crops showcase, Denmark
In Denmark, the Food Crops Showcase aims to demonstrate sustainable solutions for the primary challenges faced by food crop farms (vegetables and legume producers) in Denmark. The challenges in sustainable food crop production will be refined. And the solutions will be co-created with the relevant actors and stakeholders in a Living Lab platform. In line with the objective of the CloseCycle project, a variety of biorefinery products from regional stakeholders will be used to build soil fertility and produce high-quality food crops. To do so, a long-term field experiment will be established at the research station AU Auning (Department of Food Science), where the benefits of biorefinery products, such as anaerobic digestate, biochar, compost, and insect frass, on the environment and food crop quality, will be documented and demonstrated.
