The Local Action Plans (LAPs) developed as part of the Interreg North Sea project SUSTAIN3D serve as tailored strategies to address the barriers and opportunities for implementing additive manufacturing (AM) technologies among SMEs in Denmark, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. These LAPs complement the overarching Joint Action Plan by focusing on specific regional needs across three key areas: Skills, Services, and Infrastructure. They aim to enhance AM adoption by identifying local solutions, piloting targeted initiatives, and fostering collaboration between stakeholders, such as educational institutions, business developers, and SMEs.

In alignment with the project goals, the LAPs were co-developed through desk research, thematic workshops, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring practical and localized insights. These action plans are integral to achieving the objectives of the SUSTAIN3D project, such as increasing AM capacity among SMEs, improving the utilization of existing AM equipment, and ensuring investments in the right technologies. Together, the LAPs and Joint Action Plan provide a comprehensive framework for enabling SMEs to transition toward Industry 4.0 and unlock the potential of AM technologies.
