Training, skills development and promotion of the professions in the forest and wood sector
In France, the main obstacles to the development of the forest and wood sector are the difficulties companies find in recruiting and the lack of attraction of the different professions of the sector. As these professions have an international dimension, it would be relevant to work across borders to improve their image for young people and job seekers.
These issues could be the subject of an exchange of good practices between the different countries by taking notice of what is achieved elsewhere as well developing new tools on the scale of the North sea Interreg program. These new actions could help develop :
● An international communication of the jobs available forest and wood sector
● A network of partners composed of schools of the sector in order to get students and instructors to exchange views
● A network to help trainees and sandwich course students to go abroad for their internships.
