Storytelling training - join us online on 13 May 2025

Your project is doing great work - now let’s make sure the world hears about it.

We are hosting a dedicated storytelling training for Interreg North Sea projects. This online session is designed to help you translate your results and ambitions into stories that resonate, inspire, and spark real-world change.

Why storytelling?

Storytelling helps you:

  • Capture attention in a noisy information landscape
  • Connect emotionally with takers, end-users, policymakers, and citizens
  • Communicate your impact in a way that is memorable and motivating

Most importantly, storytelling supports capitalisation: the transfer and reuse of your project’s knowledge. A well-told story is one of the most effective tools to engage new audiences and multiply your project’s results.

A tool for your capitalisation journey

This training is part of our broader effort to support projects in delivering long-term impact. As described in our Capitalisation Guide, telling your story in clear, compelling language is essential to:

  • Engage takers and multipliers
  • Highlight benefits and proof of concept
  • Wrap your work in formats others can easily use and share

Whether you're preparing for final events, looking to pitch your results to new stakeholders, or just want to make your communication more engaging - this training is for you.

Meet the trainer

To lead this training, we’re bringing in the expertise of Nebojsa Nikolic - a seasoned communication expert, storytelling specialist, and someone who knows the world of Interreg inside out.

With a wealth of experience working directly with Interreg projects, Nebojsa has helped countless projects turn complex content into compelling stories. He also coached RegioStars finalists, supporting them in refining their narratives to stand out on the European stage.

Real project stories, rewritten live

To make the session as relevant as possible,Nebojsa will work with actual project stories from our programme. Ahead of the training, we will collect a selection of stories from participating projects. Nebojsa will choose a few to analyse and use as teaching examples - demonstrating key concepts and storytelling techniques.

On one of the stories, he will go a step further: rewriting it live, from start to finish, to show how a solid structure, stronger language, and a clear narrative can transform a standard story into a compelling one.

This is a unique chance to see practical storytelling in action - and possibly get personalised feedback on your own project’s story.

Who can join?

This training is open to everyone involved in Interreg North Sea Region projects. Whether you are:

  • A project leader looking to improve your strategic communication,
  • A project partner who wants to better promote your projects work, or
  • A communication professional tasked with engaging takers.

You are very welcome to join. The session is designed to be practical and accessible for all experience levels.

Please register by May 7.
