ECOMAT: Fueling Tomorrow

The journey toward a hydrogen-powered future took a significant step forward as the North Sea Hydrogen Valley Ports (NSH2V) project welcomed a delegation from the Netherlands to Bremen on the 27th and 28th of august. Over two days, key stakeholders came together to share insights, discuss strategies, and strengthen partnerships—all with the common goal of accelerating the energy transition in the North Sea region.

Highlights from the Visit

Day 1: Exploring Hydrogen Projects in Bremerhaven

The visit began with a deep dive into the hydrogen landscape of Bremerhaven, where participants explored ongoing projects and witnessed first-hand the region’s commitment to clean energy solutions. This provided valuable insights into Bremen’s role in the future hydrogen economy and how synergies can be created across borders.

Day 2: Stakeholder Meeting at ECOMAT

On the second day, discussions shifted to Bremen city, where stakeholders gathered at ECOMAT to exchange knowledge, align strategies, and explore cooperation opportunities. The meeting focused on developing robust hydrogen networks, strengthening cross-border collaborations, and accelerating hydrogen adoption in key industries.

Hands-On Demonstrations & Keynote Speeches

Beyond discussions, participants experienced real-world applications of hydrogen technology, with engaging demonstrations from industry leaders:

  • ENGINIUS GmbH showcased its sustainable municipal vehicles, including a hydrogen-powered truck available for test drives.
  • RYTLE X introduced its innovative cargo bikes, highlighting the role of hydrogen in urban logistics.
  • Bremer Mineralölhandel GmbH provided an in-depth look at a hydrogen-powered vehicle, presented by Ronald Rose.
