Gamlestadsgalej, an annual event in the heart of Gamlestaden, brought together approximately 6,000 visitors over two days to celebrate culture, diversity, and sustainability. Originating in 2012 as a grassroots initiative to promote second-hand trade and circular consumption, the event has grown into a beloved festival that supports local businesses, fosters community spirit, and highlights sustainable practices.
This year, Green Retail participated with a booth adapted to engage a broader audience. Exposing on the second day of the festivities, the focus was on sharing the project’s progress and impact both amongst festival visitors and other exhibitors: politicians and other changemakers. Green Retail representatives highlighted the importance of sustainable business models and facilitated discussions on building a greener future for local entrepreneurs.
With a lively food market, cultural performances, and vibrant discussions, Gamlestadsgalej succeeded in connecting people across backgrounds while boosting local businesses and spreading awareness about sustainable consumption.
