Om 21st April Green Retail in Bruges held a circular bread baking workhop
As part of the Green Retail project, we developed in spring 2024 12 public activities in collaboration with the Green Retail shops in Bruges. These activities were a low-threshold way to engage the public and introduce them into the circular story. For instance, we organised workshops, demos and talks to give the public tools to consume more sustainably and circularly. They learned to choose more sustainable and high-quality materials and products, and learned how to expand the lifespan of products by maintaining, pimping or repairing them properly.
De Broodsmid, one of our bakers, gave a workshop baking bread in the traditional way using an old wood oven. As a circular ingredient, he incorporated a residual flow of malt created during beer brewing, into the bread.
