To accelerate the adoption of Additive Manufacturing (AM) among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the technological industry, we are highlighting compelling showcases of 3D printing applications. Through expert insights from leading Dutch industry professionals, we will explore both the do’s and don’ts of integrating 3D printing into production processes. By capturing these experiences in a published format, we aim to reach a broader audience and provide potential AM users with practical, real-world implementation scenarios.
Turning Insights into Actionable Inspiration
To make 3D printing more accessible and understandable for SMEs, we will publish engaging use cases from 3D printing machine builders and service providers. These case studies will not only illustrate the possibilities of AM but also serve as a tangible, easy-to-use resource that companies can reference when considering their own adoption of 3D printing. By complementing event presentations with written storytelling, we provide an additional, low-barrier way for SMEs to explore AM technology.
The initiative will kick off with success stories from Oceanz, 3D Makers Zone (3DMZ), and CEAD, based on the cases they presented at the recent industry event. These real-world examples will showcase how AM can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve production processes—giving SMEs the knowledge and confidence to take the next step toward implementation.
Between July and September 2024, this initiative will actively engage at least 30 SMEs through the AM FME network channels, ensuring they are not only informed but also inspired to consider 3D printing as part of their manufacturing strategy.
