2nd. Stakeholder Group France

The SUSTAIN-3D community was welcomed to the Citadelle des Savoir-Faire, based in Bruay-sur-l'Escaut in northern France, to find out more about the possibilities of in-situ characterisation for additive manufacturing (also known as ‘in-print inspection’).

Date: 10/09/2024 12:00am - 11:59pm

The programme included technical presentations from CEA and CETIM, and presentations from the highly innovative companies Construction-3D and Farm-3D!

The event was rich in exchanges between additive manufacturing specialists. Here are a few key moments:

  1. Presentation of in-situ control techniques for different printing processes with the CEA: advances in fussion on a metal powder bed and deposition under energy flow.
  1. Focus on defect detection by acoustic inspection with CETIM: a detailed presentation on crack detection during printing.
  1. Discussions on monitoring and guaranteeing conditions of use with Farm-3D: how to ensure that printed parts comply with qualifications thanks to advanced monitoring.

The day ended with an inspiring visit to the Citadelle des Savoir-Faire, where innovation and 3D printing are in the spotlight!

The SUSTAIN-3D community is an initiative of the ‘SUSTAIN-3D’ Interreg North Sea project and is led on the French side by EuraMaterials, in partnership with the Club impression 3D and the CEA. The community has 50 varied and complementary profiles, as of 10 September 2024.
