Mpact, a project partner, has helped create a vision document for mobility hubs in Brussels in response to a request from Brussels Mobility. Drawing on their expertise and collaboration with local authorities, Mpact has identified strategic nodes for future hub development, influenced by their participation in other mobility hubs projects like eHUBS and SmartHubs.
The Brussels Region has recently unveiled its vision document outlining the development of a network of mobility hubs in the Belgian capital. The vision note, available in both Dutch and French, was created in response to a request from Brussels Mobility and was developed by The New Drive, Mobipunt vzw, and ShareDiMobiHub partner Mpact. The vision document explores the local context, potential users of the hubs, different hub types, service requirements for each type, as well as the possible framework for implementation and management of the hubs.
The vision note has been inspired by the valuable insights from the recently concluded Interreg NW Europe eHUBS project and ongoing JPI Urban Europe SmartHubs project, both of which Mpact is actively involved in. Leveraging its local expertise and in collaboration with Brussels Mobility and local municipalities, Mpact has compiled a longlist and shortlist of strategic public transport and shared mobility nodes in Brussels that can be prioritized for conversion into mobility hubs.
