Who are we?
BDCO has been involved for many years in sustainable mobility projects, locally but also in the framework of European projects such as Bike Friendly Cities and Eco2 mobility (interreg2seas), SUSTATION and NISTO (interreg NWE). BDCO is in charge of the cycling scheme plan on the whole Boulogne District area and is assisting the communes on that subject. We also organize and manage workshops on the mobility theme in the framework of the PCAET (Climate and energy plan) at the scale of the district. We are assisting the CCDS and CCT2C to develop their cycling scheme.
BDCO has been involved for many years in European projects (interreg2seas, NEW, URBACT…). We have been partners in several European projects dealing with sustainable mobilitly: Bike Friendly Cities and Eco2 mobility (interreg2seas), SUSTATION and NISTO (interreg NWE).As we have a good experience of European project management, we will be involved in this project as a project partner along with the 2 rural communautés de communes as subpartners.
Why are we in the mobility makers project?
The individual car is usually the only solution in rural areas, BDCO will assist the 2 communautés de communes to promote alternative solutions and identify triggers.
- We will identify the challenges : provide data on needs and mobility barriers of all involved target groups on the whole Boulogne sur mer area (inhabitants/ tourists/ young people).
- We will identify solutions that have already been implemented and new projects to be tested.
- We will assist CCDS to work on the assessment of mobility for school children (missing equipments like bike sheds in schools/ how to connect schools to the town centres safely by bike…)
- In connection with the business parks in the CCT2 and CCDS, we will work on solutions to implement in order to encourage alternatives solutions to individual cars for commuters between business parks and town centres.
Alternative mobility depends a lot on citizen involvement, change of habits and communication.
- BDCO will assist CCDS and T2C to deliver the most adequate implementation scenarios, will communicate widely on the new solutions offered to the population regarding alternative mobility-
- BDCO will assist CCDS and T2C to organise workshops with the local stakeholders to engage them in new mobility solutions.
- BDCO will coordinate the project between the different stakeholders on the territory (Opération Grand Site, CaB, communes…)
- We will liaise with the 2 subpartners and make sure they deliver their pilots.
- We will communicate on the new solutions offered to the population regarding alternative mobility.
