Monitoring NH Coast

To keep up with sea-level rise greater amounts of sand will be nourished along the Dutch coast, and it is vital to understand the behaviour of these large nourishments. Researching several monitoring methods to find the best monitoring scheme for a sandy, dynamic beach and dune, while also learning from the results to apply it in other coastal Nature-based Solution projects. By collaborating with the Sand Motor this pilot will be used to jointly enhance the understanding of natural development and human behaviour on beaches, and their mutual correlation. This will lead to an optimization of monitoring, management, and maintenance plans along the NH coast, and a more adaptive design of coasts abroad.
