The LISTEN project is back in action after the summer.

Although all project partners have taken a well-deserved summer break, we have not been completely idle since our last partner meeting in Roubaix in May. The project has had its first reporting period, and all parties have contributed to writing the status and current situation of the project in our Mid-term report.

It is gratifying to see that we have accomplished so much since the start in November 2023:

  • We have initiated and structured the project,
  • held local presentations to spread the news about our project participation,
  • completed our comparative analysis of the current situation related to work on children’s rights in all three partner countries,
  • conducted a thorough mapping of ongoing good practices in each partner region on how local and regional levels can work to strengthen children’s participation.

Looking forward, we are happy to announce that we have many interesting activities planned for the autumn!

Starting now in September, all parties will begin to engage their local working groups to gather local needs and perspectives related to the issue of participation for children and young people in community development at the local and regional levels in the North Sea region.

The three local action groups (one in each partner location) will include representatives from political parties, civil servants, schools, associations, and most importantly, children and young people.

At the project level, we look forward to jointly discussing and analyzing the inputs from the local action groups and thinking further about how these should be highlighted in the project’s final product: The operational manual for the North Sea on children and young people participation.

During the autumn, we will provide a more detailed status update from each partner’s work with the local working groups here on the website. So keep an eye out for that and more here on the website!
