Relevant Thematic Competences and Experiences
Sogestran Logistics is an expert in waterways transport solutions in France and around of Europe. Thanks to its integrated design office and its subsidiary Blue Line Logistics, owner of its boats.SOG’s group has been developing a special barge designed to operate on inland waterways to transport goods of all sizes, as well as a wide variety of containers.

Role in the Project
In this project, SOG plays a pivotal role in various work packages (WPs) as follows:

WP1:

• Being the shipowner and logistic partner in FFC "Logistics Building Material."

 WP2:

• Committing to an innovative investment policy of decarbonization of the river activity.
• Supporting and organizing multimodal waterborne transport tests in collaboration with shippers engaged in modal transfer of their goods.
• Developing solutions with "zero" emissions for sustainable transportation.

 WP3:

• Contributing to the definition, calculation, and optimization of societal and environmental balancing sheets related to ecological transport.
• Developing validated energy-saving certificates.
• Contributing to the roadmap of Seine Axis projections towards 2035-2050.
• Evaluating freight flow conditions on the Seine axis for future developments, including low-emission zones (LEZ) and structural incentives.

Benefits of Participation
Participating in the InnoWaTr2.0 project presents several several benefits to SOG:

• Be part of a North Sea Interreg programme for the first time and create a new network in WP1.
• Help promote green inland waterway transport in the Normandy region.
• Develop and share best practices with other project partners.
• Promote the River Seine axis as a sustainable transportation route.
• Establish an environmental certification system in France.
• Adopt economically viable, green solutions from InnoWaTr and be competitive in a market aiming for zero emissions.
