Relevant Thematic Competences and Experiences
Seafar specializes in the remote operation of vessels using cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies. SEA’s expertise lies in combining vessel autonomy (navigation) and remote pilotage for smart and efficient shipping, particularly in inland waterways. With a background in software development, AI engineering, and marine knowledge, Seafar is well-suited to develop smart navigation solutions for urban environments.

Role in the Project
Based on the experience of IWTS 2.0, and AVATAR, SEA will improve the technology that already was used and develop new technology.

WP2:

• Performing an engineering study in collaboration with the system integrator/ship designer.
• Preparing the vessel for semi-autonomous navigation.
• Providing and equip the vessel with control systems, cameras, and other sensors.
• Installing hardware and relevant software on an improved model of the IW vessel in Living Lab Ghent.
