Relevant Thematic Competences and Experiences
OHB specializes in city logistics and construction material distribution. It is actively involved in coordinating city distribution for construction materials in collaboration with Ghent, functioning as a Private-Public Co-operation (PPS).
Role in the Project
OHB's role in the project can be summarized as follows:
WP1:
- Organizing 3 FFC's in Ghent for waste, food, and building materials.
WP2:
- Managing Three freight flows.
- Developing an improved urban boat for semi-automated navigation and mooring in collaboration with SEFAR and AMS.
- Creating a smart, green, zero-emission city-barge model with smart navigation and loading/unloading systems in partnership with SEAFAR.
- Introducing a new type of green propulsion for a 10–30 T vessel with smart navigation and loading systems.
- Testing semi-automated connections to the quay in cooperation with AMS and SF.
Benefits of Participation
Participating in the InnoWaTr2.0 project presents several several benefits to OHB:
- Leveraging InnoWaTr experience to design new green zero-emission vessels that can become a standard for IW shipbuilding.
- Developing a flexible and dynamic loading and unloading system adaptable to various vessel types.
- Demonstrating the durability of InnoWaTr solutions among industrial partners, members, and sub-partners.
- Building on previous experience in autonomous shipping (AVATAR) and expanding into electric propulsion, automated mooring, and loading/unloading through participation in NSR-EU freight flow coalition collaborations.
