Earlier this month, the InnoWaTr partners came together in Paris for a much-anticipated three-day meeting. While we collaborate closely throughout the year, it’s rare to have everyone in the same room. These in-person moments are invaluable for re-energizing the team and moving our shared goals forward.

Key Moments from Paris
The meeting was packed with updates, insights, and hands-on demonstrations. Partners shared the latest progress on the eight Freight Flow Coalitions (FFCs), offering a deeper look into the challenges and breakthroughs each initiative has faced. One of the highlights was seeing Sogestran Logistics’ Zulu.03 in action on the Seine. This vessel, equipped with advanced technology like automated mooring, is a glimpse into the future of inland waterway transport (IWT).

Discussions also covered important topics like regulatory frameworks, coalition strategies, and how we can continue driving innovation across regions.

Beyond the formal sessions, Paris set the perfect stage for connection and collaboration. These moments reminded us that strong partnerships aren’t just built on shared goals but also on shared experiences.

InnoWaTr in Motion
At its core, the InnoWaTr project is about making inland waterway transport cleaner, more competitive, and more resilient. By working together across borders, we’re tackling key challenges like reducing emissions, improving crew safety, and making the sector more attractive and efficient.

The eight FFCs are central to this mission, bringing together stakeholders to align their interests and share the benefits of greener transport solutions. The Zulu.03 demo was a perfect example of how innovation can translate into real-world impact.

What’s Next?
The energy and ideas from the Paris meeting have already set the tone for the months ahead. As we tackle the next phases of the project, the lessons shared and connections strengthened in Paris will be key to keeping our momentum.

A huge thank you to Muriel Andurand and the French partners for hosting us so warmly.

We’re excited to keep pushing boundaries and shaping the future of inland waterway transport.
