On 06.02.2025, the Northern German InnowaTr project partners bremenports, Rhenus Partnership Hanse (formerly NWL), TOP Mehrwert-Logistik & Wirtschaftsverband Weser followed the invitation of Logistics Initiative Hamburg and met for their 4th alignment meeting in Hamburg.
A new use case
Besides aligning on the updates and current challenges regarding their two Freight Flow Coalitions in the project, there were good news to share: With great support from bremenports, FFC3 in Hamburg was able to identify an additional use case with concrete interest from a shipper in the beverage wholesale sector for pilot test runs and delivery to customers by ship in Hamburg.
Name change
Rhenus Partnership Hanse (formerly NWL) informed about their change of name in the course of the merger of the inland shipping companies NWL and Deutsche Binnenreederei to form Rhenus Partnership Hanse. This broadens their potential for for integrated transport chains - also between Bremen/Bremerhaven and Hamburg, as the newly created company is now represented in both locations.
Upcoming partner meeting
Bremenports presented their current concept for InnoWaTr’s Center of Expertise, an important tool for dissemination and knowledge transfer for the project outcomes and results. Lastly, the partners discussed needs and plans for the upcoming project partner meeting of the whole InnoWaTr consortium, which will be hosted in Bremen in March 2025. Stay tuned for insights from this partner meeting, which will bring creative and inspiring views into the role and potentials of inland shipping. However, the details remain a secret for the time being. 😊
