Logistik-Initiative Hamburg Management GmbH (LIHH)

Relevant Thematic Competences and Experiences 
LIHH is a joint venture of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, represented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Innovation, and the Logistik-Initiative Hamburg e.V.. The aim of this public-private partnership is to further expand the role of the Hamburg metropolitan region as the leading innovative logistics metropolis in Northern Europe and to network logistics-related companies and institutions. LIHH will fully exploit its quadruple helix model of innovation in this project.

 

Role in the Project
In Hamburg, LIHH coordinates the "City Logistics Retail" Freight Flow Coalition (FFC) and oversee transnational cooperation with its partners in Gent. LIHH’s  role involves guiding FFC partners, leveraging our expertise to engage external stakeholders, and effectively disseminating project results.

  • WP1: Activation of LIHH’s  existing innovation ecosystems for FFC and addressing the challenges therein.
  • WP2: Activation of company’s diverse cluster members, comprising SMEs, corporates, research institutions, and startups, to provide solutions for the challenges outlined in WP2. This will lead to added value and knowledge transfer within LIHH’s network community (WP3).
  • WP3: Creation of synergies with ongoing (EU) projects concerning the improved utilization of urban waterways and canals within the Hamburg region. LIHH will develop an implementation roadmap and market uptake strategy to be shared with other regions and cities, utilizing its  extensive network of 500+ members.

 

Benefits of Participation
Participating in the InnoWaTr2.0 project presents several several benefits to LIHH::

  • Establishment of innovation and FFC ecosystems on regional and transnational levels (WP2), enhancing our connectivity and integration with stakeholders and regions within the NSR.
  •  Strengthening its commitment to fostering Hamburg's Regional Innovation Strategy (RIS) as a public-private partnership (PPP) with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
