Relevant Thematic Competences and Experiences
IDIT is a research institute specializing in international transport law and brings relevant competences to the InnoWaTr2.0 project, including expertise in European Inland Waterway Transport regulations and comparative studies of regulatory frameworks, incentives programs and barriers to modal shift and greening IWT. Additionally IDIT has competences and appropriate experiences in analysis of alternative fuels and land-side infrastructure for IWT, expert insights into GDPR in transport, and analysis of Intermodal Transport Contract Models and Case Law.

 

Role in the Project
In the InnoWaTr2.0  project, IDIT is member of the French Freight Flow Coalition "Logistics building material”.

WP2:

  • Analyzing and comparing the various regulatory and incentive regimes in each Freight Flow Coalition (FFC) affecting the adoption of green inland waterway transport solutions in Europe.
  • Consulting with regulatory bodies and stakeholders within each FFC to formulate policy recommendations to address barriers.
  • Delivering analysis reports, conduct internal workshops, and participate in the French pilot project.

WP3:

  • Providing guidance to public policy bodies and regulators on methods to enhance local and national regulatory regimes, encouraging the development of green inland waterway transport.

 

Benefits of Participation

Participating in the InnoWaTr2.0  project offers several benefits to IDIT:

  • Identify differences in regulatory and incentive regimes influencing IWT innovations across North Sea Region countries.
  • Sharing knowledge within IDIT’s network and contributing to European policy development on IWT.
  • Encourage the adoption of environmentally-friendly practices in European IWT.
  • Collaborate with partners on pilot projects in Normandy, particularly along the river Seine.
  • Expands IDIT’s European network and establish new partnerships, marking IDIT's first participation in the North Sea Interreg program.
