Relevant Thematic Competences and Experiences
HHX possesses expertise in commercial shipping, including Inland Waterways (IWT) and related policy issues. It also has a strong focus on ship financing, with the ability to facilitate access to finance, handle financial structuring, and perform evaluations. Additionally,  it’s hands-on experience extends to greening; particularly in financing innovative solutions for decarbonization, including market-based measures (MBM). HHX is also proficient in standardizing procedures and transitioning them into the digital world.

Role in the Project
WP2:

• Developing  a Stated Preference (SP) survey for understanding user behavior in a new situation.
• Creating  aMS-Excel-based cash-flow tool to enable self-evaluation of the business case and financing/greening proposition.
• Empowering ship owners to adjust projects and business propositions to market conditions in ship financing, enhancing the probability of attracting finance and complying with greening requirements.

WP3:

• Availing the  deliverables of  WP2 online to facilitate access for business entities and partners.
• Continuous  updating of the tools’ parameters to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

Benefits of Participation
Participating in the InnoWaTr2.0 project, presents several advantages to HHX, including:

• Enrichment of HHX's service portfolio by supporting the "green transition" for inland water transport systems.
• Contribution to the greening of shipping by providing innovative business-case development tools and financing solutions.
• Synergy with the aim of "greening" by promoting fleet renewal and strengthening inland water transport systems.
• Facilitation of ship managers in evaluating new building projects and optimizing them under current financing criteria, including aspects of green financing.
• Expansion of business in the Inland Waterways (IW) markets by transferring knowledge, experience, and lessons-learned on greening and finance from other segments to IW fleets.
