Auto Mooring Solutions specializes in automated mooring, particularly the development of an automated rope picker robot aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and efficiency in mooring processes. This innovation promises quicker and safer ship mooring, particularly crucial for automated sailing and essential in Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) city logistics. The solution is of interest to partners due to its potential to reduce the need for a crew, resulting in cost savings and safer operations, considering the inherent dangers in mooring activities.

 

Role in the Project
In the project, AMS will contribute significantly to two key work packages:

WP2:

  • Initial AMS-Robot Picker design for inland barges.
  • AI development for bollards recognition.
  • Pilot project in Belgium with FFCs to test the Robot Picker Robot.
  • Functional pilot project to prepare for fully autonomous mooring.
  • Prototype construction of AMS-Rope Picker Robot.

WP3:

  • Resolution of regulation and certification issues.
  • Durability and optimization of Rope Picker Robots.
