Provincie Drenthe
In Drenthe, efforts are centered on connecting hydrogen suppliers, filling stations, and end-users to bring hydrogen-powered heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) to market. The region plans to deploy its first H2 HDV for bulk transport, such as beets, potatoes, milk, sand, or asphalt, while simultaneously developing a robust business case. Data collection from everyday use under demanding 24/7 conditions will demonstrate the employability and suitability of hydrogen-powered trucks. Collaboration is key, with ecosystem development involving stakeholders such as fleet owners, transporters, and truck suppliers. Strong brand loyalty among Dutch drivers makes the involvement of OEM hydrogen trucks particularly important. Key milestones include regional kick-off events, implementation planning, interim reporting, and experience sharing through meetings and events.
