On 16 September 2024 the Green Team project was presented to the Emsland district environmental committee, just in time for the nationwide Climate Adaptation Week. For this purpose, NIKO, as a cooperation partner, created a climate profile for Emsland with basic data on climate change in the region. Jürgen Schultze from the Technical University of Dortmund was able to provide the MPs with a comprehensive overview of the objectives and content of the project.

The members of the Environment Committee unanimously decided to continue supporting and implementing the project. They expressly welcome the creative measures for dealing with climate change, which they expect to result from this project, particularly in the form of a climate adaptation strategy for the district of Emsland.
