Let's accelerate
Local and regional authorities are in need for structural support when it comes to designing and implementing green-blue opportunities. Because when quick wins in public spaces are neglected, a lot of money and opportunities are lost to create green-blue public spaces that are better prepared to handle the effects of climate change, such as floods, droughts and heat. Moreover, green-blue public spaces increase public health, wellbeing, and overall liveability. Therefore, the Green Team project will equip these authorities with a methodology to integrate climate adaptation into the DNA of their organisations.
Green Team methodology
The Green Team project will establish an integrated and systemic approach to climate adaptation by building:
- Green Teams: Establish cross-departmental cooperation under the banner of Green Teams to boost climate adaptation awareness, cooperation and action within the organisation.
- A green-blue public investment planning: Develop a roadmap and local action plans that guide local governemnts to seize opportunities for climate adaptation in planned projects from design to maintenance.
- A cross-sectoral learning network: Stimulate the exchange of knowledge and good examples by involving different sectors and better aligning the supply and demand side of climate adaptation in public spaces.
