Researchers at Aberystwyth University, including Oscar Jones, Joe Ironside, and Daniel Mills, are investigating innovative strategies to manage the population of Chinese mitten crabs within the River Dee catchment. Their work focuses on developing advanced sampling techniques to trace the migration routes of juvenile Chinese mitten crabs and assessing potential sites for the installation of permanent crab traps.
Now, a collaboration has emerged between the UK researchers and the CLANCY project. This partnership aims to expand the knowledge base of both teams, fostering the exchange of ideas and expertise. By working together, the UK researchers and CLANCY will gather valuable data to better understand and manage the invasive Chinese mitten crabs.
