On October 24, actors from the Sjuhärad region were invited to an important discussion about the future of biogas in the region.
Three workshops are held during the autumn at three different locatons in the region to increase knowledge about biogas, discuss its challenges and opportunites and strengthen cooperaton between different actors. The event brought together municipalites, farmers, biogas producers, biogas customers in transport and industry, as well as other interested partes.
Sandra Johansson from the Borås Region's Municipal Associaton spoke about waste planning and available establishment sites in the Borås area, followed by a discussion about the overall role of the municipalites and the county board in community planning and how it affects biogas' opportunites for establishment. Magnus Kuschel from the Bioze project talked about energy planning and the potental of biogas as power redundancy in the electricity system. The environmental permit process and supervision of biogas plants as well as the climate step support were also discussed. Representatves from biogas companies present reflected on what makes a municipality atractve to biogas producers.
This event also contributes to creatng a platorm to bring together different actors in the biogas feld to share knowledge, discuss challenges and identfy opportunites. It became clear that there is a strong commitment and a desire to develop the role of biogas in this part of Västra Götaland as well.
