Rodewald, March 7th, 2023 - A workshop at the "Deutsches Haus" inn brought together 90 individuals to explore the use of biomass in local heating networks, organized by 3N. Representatives from various sectors, including municipalities, utilities, financial institutions, energy companies, and farmers, shared insights on integrating biogas, wood energy, wind, and solar power systems.
EGIS eG showcased their innovative system in Bavaria, demonstrating how a local grid's heat demand could be met by a heat pump powered by solar or wind energy. This approach optimizes the use of bioenergy resources during periods of low solar or wind energy supply.
Additionally, involving the local population in financing renewable energy systems was found to reduce resistance. Cooperatives and partnerships with local businesses can contribute to the success of projects. Farmers' credibility is also vital when implementing heating systems based on biogas or wood energy plants.
These discoveries offer valuable pathways to leverage biomass in efficient heating solutions, with enhanced collaboration and community involvement driving progress.
