Workshop #3 – April 29, 2024, Pacé

On April 29, 2024, the third workshop took place in Pacé, focusing on the use of wood chips from hedges. Technical experts from local authorities of East Brittany discussed sustainable management, the wood chip industry, and the role of EPCIs (Public Establishments for Inter-municipal Cooperation). They emphasized the need for better organization and cooperation among EPCIs. The workshop also addressed wood pellets, resource stability, carbon footprint concerns, and practical applications of wood energy systems. The FAQ tool was presented and disseminated for local officials from participating EPCIs. A specific exchange was dedicated to question the need of going further and develop an even more detailed FAQ sheet. The feedback was collected for further dissemination actions.

Workshop #4 – May 13, 2024, Quimperlé

The fourth workshop, held on May 13, 2024, in Quimperlé, focused on wood resource management. Participants from west part of Brittany, including local government officials and technical experts, expressed concerns about resource stability due to climate change and increased demand. They highlighted the need for visibility on resource quantity and ongoing projects. Discussions covered data ownership, resource tracking, and the importance of reliable tools to match resource availability with consumption. Participants also raised concerns about emission quality control, especially with tightening criteria, and found a part of the answers already in the FAQ tool presented this day.
