Lille - Fives District Neighbourhood

Context

Fives is a district situated in the east of Lille. It is one of the most underprivileged areas of the city, especially in terms of green and natural spaces, but the municipality has been taking actions over the past years to tackle those issues.

Planned Actions

  1. Conduct or have conducted prospective studies on ecological belts (e.g. ecological corridors, brown grid and urban soil renaturation).
  2. Launch a campaign to raise awareness among the inhabitants of the district, who can help protect "ordinary" biodiversity and adopt sustainable practices.
  3. Reflection on governance procedures for the green spaces and biodiversity (from the perspective of the Fives district officials)
