On 17 April, 58 participants gathered in Lille for a full day focused on project communication.

The workshop Ace your communication covered a range of topics that are key to effective project communication, from strong visuals to empathising with target groups. In addition to observers from Région Hauts-de-France and the Interreg North West Europe Programme, around 50 people representing 35 Interreg North Sea projects participated in this event. 

Despite a long day and a packed programme, the room was buzzing with exchanges and informal talks from start to finish. From how to work with policymakers to joint efforts on citizen engagement, the participants shared exciting ideas and experiences throughout the event.

Project to project inspiration

Three project speakers kindly shared some successful project communication approaches with the audience.

Shanne Bouma (WaterWarmth) explained the benefits of honing your project pitch; Johannes Betz (Green Suppy Chains) addressed ways to engage with "takers" - in this case, ports and port-related supply chains as well as policymakers; and Deirdre Buist presented how working with personas and customer journeys had helped the VB project Stronghouse to communicate effectively with home owners.
