WaterWarmth Consortium Convenes in Caen, France
On May 28th and 29th, the WaterWarmth consortium gathered in the charming city of Caen, France, for an inspiring and productive third partner meeting.
During the two-day event our consortium members engaged in a collaborative workshop focused on the governance of aquathermal energy.
This workshop built on the recent expert report, which is now available here. In the coming months, we'll host webinars to help local governments better understand and guide the governance of aquathermal energy.
A highlight of the meeting was a first introduction of the innovative quick-scan tool, set to launch at the end of the year. This tool will provide an initial assessment of project feasibility and location potential for aquathermal energy systems.
During the partner meeting we discussed several aspects concerning the governance, implementation, technique and feasibility of aquathermal energy and collective heat networks. In addition, all different work packages shared their progress and recent developments.
On Wednesday, we visited the prospective aquathermal pilot site at Le CANO in Ouistreham. The potential to use seawater to heat buildings could be a game changer! We are collecting the lessons of this pilots and making those available for everybody to learn from on our website.
It is great to see everyone together again in real life. The dedicated WaterWarmth partners with shared motivation and eagerness can learn a lot from each other. Thanks to BUILDERS École d'ingénieurs for organizing the meeting and site visit. We are looking forward to the exciting journey with all the partners ahead!
