October 9, 2023, more than 60 customers came to the information evening in the Heechhús. Goal of the evening: enlarging the group of citizens involved in the energy community! Heeg borders a large lake and the village has 2225 inhabitants. The village wants to be energy neutral by 2025 using aquathermal energy and wants to do this under its own management; cooperation Warm Heeg.
After a successful campaign in spring, the residents of Heeg, the team of energy cooperative Warm Heeg came together again. The Warm Heeg team gave a presentation about financing it's heating network and how Súdwest-Fryslân can aid this process.
There was plenty of room for interaction: participants formed groups to brainstorm about the next steps for the energy cooperative. The Warm Heeg team received a list of good suggestions to continue their campaign during the winter period. More customers are needed to reach the required 75% participation rate to get the aquathermal energy installation going in the village.
Some attendees indicated that they would like to be more actively involved in the coming months. It's great to hear that people want to remain involved. Warm Heeg agreed to keep the village informed, using different channels of communication. More meetings follow when new milestones are reached.
