On November 7th, 2024, the wooden drifter campaign is launched in Lemvig, Denmark. It aims to assess and highlight the plastic pollution in our riverine and marine environment. During the campaign 10,000 wooden blocks are released as markers for the movement of plastic litter from river to the North Sea. During the Klimatorium's annual 'Global Youth Climate Summit', the campaign is scheduled to set off with an official ceremony, where 500 wooden blocks are released in Lemvig harbor.
The event takes place from 10.45-11.45, approximately 200 high school students and 300 local primary school pupils release the wooden blocks, while the first piece is thrown into the water by ESA Astronaut Andreas Mogensen, this year's keynote speaker at the 'Global Youth Climate Summit.
