SSCH in Flanders

In spring 2024, ASTER started the installation of charging infrastructure for social housing companies in Flanders, Belgium. The charging infrastructure will be installed in combination with solar panels on the roofs of social housing dwellings or buildings owned by housing companies (office buildings, warehouses, workshops...) on semi-public sites.

The SSCH Living Lab will be built as part of the rollout of charging infrastructure at social housing companies. A feasibility study will be carried out in advance. On the one hand, the charging infrastructure is being rolled out to also make e-mobility possible in social residential areas. On the other hand, this infrastructure can be used to limit and possibly even avoid overloading the electricity grid. The main target groups are social housing companies and social tenants in Flanders. The SSHC will however be accessible to all users of electric vehicles. A precise location has not yet been decided. The project partner Flux50 will support ASTER.
