In this video, Professor Holger Hermanns from Saarland University shares his enthusiasm for the collaboration within the STORM_SAFE project. On May 31, 2024, project partners gathered at the Emsperrwerk, Lower Saxony’s largest storm surge barrier managed by NLWKN, the state agency for water management, coastal protection and nature conservation.
Hermanns reflects on the experience of exploring the barrier's infrastructure firsthand, from examining the machinery up close to discussing strategies with partners on improving the software's resilience and addressing aging challenges. This meeting highlighted the importance of uniting academic and infrastructure perspectives, fostering shared knowledge and a common language. An inspiring step forward for all involved.
