The Dutch Multimodal Transport Expo is the place where transport and logistics companies from both the Netherlands and Flanders come together. Last edition on March 13, 2025, no fewer than 100 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors came to the exhibition floor in Breda.
During the substantive program, all modalities were discussed, from inland shipping and short sea to road transport, rail and air freight. It was an unmissable event within the transport and logistics sector.
The Dutch SPIES partners Province of Limburg and MCA Brabant had a shared stand at the expo. Three important topics were covered: ‘Port Management Brabant Ports’, ‘Rhombus Modal Shift’ and last but not least the Interreg North sea project ‘Shore Power in European Shipping’ (SPIES).
Shore-based power is increasingly on the agenda of ports and terminals as a way to reduce emissions at the quay. During this expo shipping experts discussed how shore-based power contributes to the energy transition, what investments are needed and what obstacles still need to be overcome. How does shore power become profitable for both terminals and ship owners? What are the technical and legal challenges?
During the day, many interested parties from the logistics world came to the SPIES stand to learn more about the Shore Power In European Shipping project and many visitors came to get acquainted with the SPIES project.
