This workshop, organised by the University of Malta, Malta Heritage and IOPAS Poland and supported by NATO Science for Peace and Security was attended by partners from all over Europe coming from the science community, military forces, administration as well as heritage and nature conservation associations and took place at the Maritime Museum in the city of Birgu from the 22nd - 27th of April, 2024. Dr. Matthias Brenner from the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) showed insights of how marine life being exposed to dissolved TNT deriving from corroded munition left on the sunken war wrecks is impacted. Further, the wreck and associated risk assessment as developed in North Sea Wrecks Project and as streamlined and promoted in the REMARCO project was presented as a comprehensive tool for investigating polluting wrecks to the audience.
