TIDE/SOLAR/WAVE/WIND. GREEN TRANSITION for / in Ports
The pilot focuses on the preparation of (a) test field(s) for (a) system(s) that can be scaled/replicated in a simple manner. Demonstration(s) are then used to detect best possible option for the different locations in view of long-term operation, incl. prerequisites & challenges (salty air, mist etc.) assessment as, e.g., micro wind turbines proved to face many technical problems in the past. Integration of interested port community in the trial. The feasibility of investments is analysed, so that the test field can be built. It must be ensured that there are no negative consequences for the port, cargo handling and ports as organisations from a possible investment.
The test fields will be installed on Nports own areas and Nports owns the installations beyond the project lifetime. The test field will be maintained and looked after, securing monitoring of the installations on a long-term basis. Experience and data will be happily shared with REDII Ports partners and other parties interested from science, port community etc.
Nports considerations in this pilot:
- install small windturbines along with hard- and software
- put off-grid working pontoon into service
- analyse feasibility of port water heatpump, find a location, develop concept. Then consider the investment
- analyse feasibility of film pv / flexible solar panels, concept development, search for the right location and consider the investment
