In MoLo Hubs, we have defined several focus topics that are of outstanding importance for all pilot areas. Our so-called knowledge and network partners in the project work on these together with the host partners of the pilot areas and contribute methodological competence and technical expertise for these topics to the project.

We would like to introduce you to these cross-cutting topics through a series of interviews.

Role within MoLo Hubs:
Leader of Work Package #1: "Setting the scene & comprehensive as-is analysis" and Knowledge Partner for the cross-cutting topic "User experience & people-centricity"

Why are user experience & people-centricity relevant aspects for MoLo Hubs?

For mobility and logistics hubs to be relevant it’s critical to design them in the light of the needs, habits, and preferences of the end-users. People-centricity is about ensuring that the services offered are aligned with user needs and preferences, increasing the functionality and likelihood of adoption and frequent use.

What are the potentials of user-centric solutions when it comes to implementing logistics services at shared mobility hubs?

When we in MoLo Hubs involve stakeholder it’s a matter of ensuring stronger support and collaboration not only with the end-users, but also with other people affected by the hubs. We believe that is critical to fulfil the overall objective: improving sustainable flow of people and goods in urban environments.

Are there any good examples from the pilot areas?

For instance, in Aalborg the pilot is about setting up parcel lockers that are used to send and receive parcels and to collect hazardous waste. During the process of piloting, we collect qualitative and quantitative data about the citizens’ behaviour and thoughts about the lockers to qualify and adjust the design, location, communication etc.

What is your vision for the impact of MoLo Hubs towards the aspect of user experience & people-centricity by the end of the project?

Our vision is to contribute to creating efficient, inclusive, and user-friendly hubs in the five cities that enhances user experience and prioritizes people-centricity. Hopefully, the project would manifest in seamless integration of transportation and logistics services that set new standards and cater to diverse user needs.
