From the 6th of March 2024 citizens in the center of Aalborg will have the opportunity to send and receive packages as well as hand in their hazardous waste, (e.g. batteries, light bulbs, spray cans and small electronics) in a smart box set up in the local area.
It will thus be easier for citizens to sort and hand over hazardous waste in the local area instead of driving to the recycling site. This is also combined with the ability to send/receive packages. The aim is to gather several services in the same place and therefore avoid unnecessary transport of package delivery and waste collection.
Join the opening of the first box and the activation of the whole system where 32 boxes in Aalborg will be available.
At the opening Anna Aaen, Alderman of Climate and Environment, Aalborg Municipality will introduce the system and open the first box. You can also bring your hazardous waste and try the system. At the workshop afterwards the project group will collect data on the current situation and discuss the needs and opportunities for the future use of the system. We will serve coffee and cakes.
