Panel:
On Friday morning from 11:00-11:45, dont miss the MegaBITS panel session titled: "Cycling Apps and Platforms as Policy Tools: Building Engaged Communities for Sustainable Mobility."
This session will examine how cycling apps and platforms can support sustainable mobility by generating data and encouraging active transportation. However, attracting and retaining users remains a challenge. The MegaBITS project has explored strategies to foster long-term engagement through features such as community-driven challenges, experience sharing, and participation tools and wants to share this with the audience.
The discussion will feature insights from Antwerp’s digital cycling platform, which enables cyclists to contribute to infrastructure planning, and Overijssel’s newly launched app, designed to promote cycling through community engagement and gamification.

Exhibitor tour and Smart Pedal Pitch:
In addition to the panel discussion, MegaBITS will participate in a guided exhibition hall tour, showcasing companies that specialize in cycling-focused Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
The conference will also feature the return of the Smart Pedal Pitch, a competition designed to identify and support innovative startups in cycling and mobility technology. The 2025 edition will be focussed on intermodal travel data and will offer exciting prizes such as a free ticket to attend Velo-city 2025 and the possibility to test the solution as a pilot in the City of Gdansk.
The Smart Pedal Pitch is organized by the City of Gdansk, Gdansk Tourism Organisation and Starter, in cooperation with the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF), Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) and MegaBITS.
