We are thrilled that the much-anticipated Velo-City conference is happening in Ghent this year and MegaBITS will be right there in the heart of the action! The conference is taking place from the 18th to the 21st of June and is a highlight of the global cycling calendar.

Smart Pedal Pitch 2024
Back by popular demand, and in collaboration with the MegaBITS project, Smart Pedal Pitch returns to Velo-City, this time in Ghent. Start-ups and SMEs in the cycling innovation and tech space are invited to participate in this exciting competition! More information about the application process and the fantastic prizes on offer will be announced soon.
Previous editions of the competition have seen smart cycling tech companies such as Telraam (bike counting), Bicylift (cycle logistics) and OnSee (bike camera to improve cyclist safety) take out the top prize, which included the opportunity to develop their product through a proof-of-concept pilot on the streets of the host city as well as cash prizes. The opportunity to pitch their product to a plenary audience full of cycling policy makers and industry experts is also an opportunity not to be missed!
Cycling and ITS session
As in previous Velo-City editions, there will also be a dedicated session to cycling and ITS, co-hosted by MegaBITS. This session will bring together partners of the MegaBITS project as well as policy makers and cycling professionals to discuss how ITS and connected cycling compliments and contributes to a safer, more comfortable and more convenient cycling experience. This session will take place in the morning of the 21st of June and we look forward to seeing members of the MegaBITS community there.
CIE Pavilion @ Velo-City
CIE, partner of the MegaBITS project, will also have a dedicated pavilion space at the Velo-City conference, offering companies a prime opportunity to showcase their products and services to a global audience. A stand on the CIE Pavilion is your gateway to exceptional visibility and unique networking opportunities. Offering booth sizes for cycling companies of all sizes (start-up booths up to spaces for companies with large equipment) can be purchased for the 4 day event.
