Last weekend, a team of Danish, Dutch and German scientists installed KID measurement stations in Denmark. The locations selected as pilot sites for the project include downtown Ribe, in Jutland, as a bright sky environment monitoring location, and the Wadden island of Mandø as a darker sky analysis setting.
The stations have been equipped with a KID-RP system and an SQM, which both have been collecting data. The first results have already shown that Mandø is among the darkest places in the Wadden Sea region. Clear sky values close to 22 mag/arcsec2 and overcast values up to 23 have been measured independently by both systems.
