Following the kick-off partner meeting on 24th – 25th May in Emmen (NL),  Green Renewable  Industrial Transition Hotspots (GRITH) is now up and running.

During the 2-day meeting, partners had the opportunity to get to know each other as well as to present their regions and ambitions within the context of the Green Renewable Industrial Transition Hotspots project. By activating the potential of industrial sites and business parks and engaging stakeholders, the consortium wants to accelerate the switch to renewable energy, sustainable economic growth and greener practices. Through investment and organization models, the project will empower these sites to become hotspots for the shared production, storage and distribution of renewable energy.

GRITH is…

To this end, the 8 GRITH partners from 6 countries in the North Sea Region plan to reorganize stakeholder engagement on site and develop feasible business cases. Together they will test these cases in at least 25 pilots with a view to raising the share of renewable energy to 40% of consumption.

Mapping sites

First steps first.  The consortium is currently mapping the industrial sites in each partner region to be included or engaged with during the project, making an inventory of site characteristics; size, organization, energy production and consumption, activities, location etc.  This is the theme of our next online workshop and the first step in shared learning and  the co-creation of green, sustainable solutions.
