The Port of Skagen is undergoing a great development with large port expansions and new business areas, such as the container terminal. Along this port development, Skagen focuses on the electrification on existing and new business segments. The recent plan is to develop shore power solution on the quays at the latest port expansion area for fish landing-terminals. The Cable Management System (CMS) needs to be flexible and movable to serve two quays.

Port of Skagen has interviewed the end users and had meetings with terminal owners and CMS suppliers. In the beginning of 2024, Skagen will prepare technical specifications and request for proposal.

The demonstration of on shore power supply machinery in a small scale port like Skagen will be an inspiring showcase for other smaller ports in the European Union.
