In January 2024, Kristinehamn Municipality launched a three-year initiative within the Interreg project Green Supply Chains. The project aimed to promote the sustainable development of inland ports in the North Sea region and their inland transport systems.
To enable this development, efforts were made to create collaborations between market players, authorities, and municipalities. The goal was to explore how the entire supply chain could evolve towards more sustainable transport solutions through increased stakeholder cooperation.

During the conference, participants had the opportunity to listen to both local and national companies sharing their work to foster profitable and sustainable business practices. Examples were presented on the progress made, including pellet production in Karlskoga and its shipment to Europe, as well as how the rail industry, in collaboration with other stakeholders, has strengthened the competitiveness of green logistics.

The conference was free of charge and targeted actors across the entire supply chain—from producers and transport providers to logistics partners and municipalities. We hope that attendees left the event with new insights, valuable contacts, and inspiration for future collaborations in sustainable logistics.
