Kristinehamn's networking event where the regional transport and logistics sector discussed Sustainable Transport: Needs and Challenges.
The Municipality of Kristinehamn, together with the municipality’s business development company Närsam, hosted the third networking event for local transport and logistics actors on Thursday, 19 September. The theme of the meeting was "Sustainable Transport: Needs and Challenges," and participants included representatives from the port, the haulage, rail, and manufacturing industries, as well as from the region’s public authority and project partner, RISE.
The purpose of the meeting was twofold: firstly, to establish platforms for actors to collaborate within the Green Supply Chains project and the stakeholder involvement theme, and secondly, to disseminate and gather information regarding the opportunities and challenges faced by the municipality and its stakeholders in their pursuit of sustainable development.
During the meeting, the municipality provided updates on ongoing projects related to transport and logistics, as well as the progress within the Green Supply Chains. To mark the occasion, a local haulage operator, Wiréns Åkeri, was invited to speak about their business in relation to sustainability issues.
The networking event also featured a workshop focused on the day's theme, where participants, divided into smaller groups, discussed challenges and opportunities in transport and logistics concerning sustainability and GSC. The workshop generated valuable discussions and insights that Kristinehamn will incorporate into its ongoing efforts, both in stakeholder involvement and sustainable development, as part of the Green Supply Chains project and the municipality’s overall logistics work.
